The First Sunday of Lent February 21 -- 11:15 am

The very fact that we can be in a relationship with God is because Jesus endured the brutal death that our sins deserved. By His going into the waters of baptism, He was declaring with His life, and later, His words, that Jesus, this perfect fully God and fully human, is taking the sin of humanity on His shoulders. It's out of gratitude from the grace that comes from Jesus' sacrifice that we are compelled to be in a relationship with our God and be greater followers of Jesus.

Knowledge, especially knowing that Jesus is the Savior, is a wonderful thing. It is good that we take Biblical truth and apply it to life, but we nust be careful how we apply Biblical truth. As believers in Jesus Christ, we are called upon to not place stumbling blocks in the way of people as they come to faith in Jesus. We apply our knowledge with love.
