For Week of May 21st–25th

 

Memory:                        Memory next week we will begin The First Article:  Creation Bible Verses.  We are going to learn various bible verses at a time.  This weeks bible verse is (John  3:36)  Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.  Memory test will be on Friday, May 25th, 2012.

 

Religion:                       Jonah

 

Spelling:                       Narrative Non-fiction Reading: I will have some selected short story reads for this week for the students and a review list of words from previous lessons for the spelling test.  Test will consist of twenty regular words and five challenge words for the spelling test.  Test will be on Friday, May 25th, 2012.

 

 

 

Reading/English:          Narrative Non-Fiction Reading:  Selected short reads from Mr. Petrasko’s list of short stories.

 

 

 

Science:                       Chapter Ten:  Electricity and Magnetism–How are electricity and magnetism transformed into energy?

 

 

Math:                            Decimals, Percents and Fractions continued.

 

 

Social Studies:       Chapter  11:  Ohio and Prosperity after World War II–The age of discretionary incomes and a time for leisure in American Society.  Wrapping up chapter 11 and beginning study guide for chapter test.

 

 

Health:                          Mr. Meyers will be coming into our class Monday and Tuesday talking about bullying in and outside of school.

 

Important News for the week

Box Tops will be due and collected next week.  Thank you for your continued support.

If at all possible, boxes of kleenex would be greatly appreciated for the classroom for the remainder of the school year.  Thank you, Mr. Petrasko

 About Mr. Petrasko

I would like to introduce myself to you.  My name is Tony Petrasko, the new 4th grade teacher at Redeemer Christian School.  I live in Stow with my wife Maureen.  We have two daughters, Maria and Vanessa who both are currently in college.  I love all sports, especially football!  I help coach all of the boys' sports teams here at Redeemer along with Mr. Grulke.  I am originally from Cuyahoga Falls, attened Cuyahoga Falls City Schools and the University of Akron.  I have both a Marketing Degree and Educational Degree from Akron.  I obtained my Masters Degree in Education from Kent State University completing in December 2010.  I attend Holy Family Church in Stow.  I had previously worked for the Fred W. Albrecht Grocery Company for over 20 years before I started my teaching career.  As a teacher, I feel that I can have a tremendous positive impact on students at this level.
