Final Exam Science Review

The 8th graders are currently in the midst of their Constitutional convention. Their country name is The United Never Minds and they have worked very diligently in beginning to piece together their nation.  They are located a little south of Hawaii, so if you’re in the neighborhood, stop by and say ”Hi”!  It’s a fun and educational time!

Student Council raised over $430 to help the American Cancer Society for October’s annual breast cancer awareness month.  This terrible disease has touched families and friends of people, and the strong leadership of our Student Council officers has been most impressive!  Our Redeemer family has truly been blessed by God!

The class trip to Gettysburg and Washington D.C. is happening May 23-25.  Our bus is full, and we have a waiting list of 6 parents.  We cannot wait to see the sites including the newly dedicated Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.  We also have made a request to visit the White House as well as the Capitol.  A rumor is going around that Mr. Grulke has volunteered to climb all the steps of the Washington Monument to check for damage from the earthquake last August.  :)

Sports passes are available for the basketball season.  Cost is $25 for a family, $10 for an adult, and $5 for a student.  See Mr. Jones for tickets or further information or answers to questions you may have.  The passes are good for all home games and regular season away games.  We will be hosting games on ten (10) different dates this season.   Go Raiders and Lady Raiders!!!

GO  BUCKS!

 About Mr. Jones

This is my 35th year teaching, the last 33 at RCS.  I attended Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, IL (formerly known as CTC, it is now Concordia University Chicago).  I'm a native of the Columbus area (better known as the holy land) and I am a proud Ohioan and Buckeye.  I currently reside in Akron.  In addition to being the 8th grade homeroom teacher, I teach Social Studies to the 6th and 7th grades, American history to the 8th graders, math, 8th grade religion, and art to the 7th and 8th graders. I love OHIO STATE and I humor Pastor Johnson concerning "that school up north".  I have three granddaughters, and my goal is to teach all three of them.  I am truly blessed to be able to serve my Lord and Savior, Jesus, in such a wonderful, loving, and caring environment.
